Soft Focus is a series of mixed media paintings and sculptures that connect fragmented, appropriated digital images with the physicality of material and deconstructed objects to coalesce object, image, and narrative into physical space. The process of mimicry and abstraction bring into question truth and transformation by making apparent the phenomenological traces of tape, images, and imposed gesture. The series has been presented as solo exhibitions both at Fort Point Arts Center Main Gallery in Boston, MA & New System Exhibitions in Portland, ME.
